Since 1999, players have not only been able to collect Pokémon in virtual life, but also in real. At least as a card form, because this year the first booster of the collection card game appeared. Those who bought several boosers for around 5 D-mark per pack at the time could now live a good life as a millionaire.
After over 25 years, some of the Pokémon cards that appeared in the very first boosters are worth a fortune. They regularly achieve top prices at auctions when you consider that the packs could be bought for a small pocket money even then. Grading is important.
What does Grading mean?
Depending on the condition in which the cards are, they are classified by providers such as PSA, CGC, GSG and others. The scale ranges from 1 to 10. With a 10, the card comes out of the printer almost fresh, with a 1 it has considerable defects.
Over the years there have also been some cards that were distributed as part of special events. Among them are those that are only in the world once. Accordingly, they also have a high value. Some of them even reach six -figure sums, from which you could easily afford a sports car. For comparison: a Porsche 911 Turbo S, for example, costs just a little more than 240,000 euros, says the official site. That would be smooth with some of the top cards.
Meinmmo lists the 8 most valuable Pokémon cards in a ranking that achieved the highest prices when selling. So if you happen to be in possession of one of the cards, you can probably get rid of them against a high amount of money.
We will show you in detail the places 1-8, places 9-20 only as a list.
You can also collect Pokémon cards digitally, but they are not worth that much:
