“If I’m elected, I’m going to play there”

If Im elected Im going to play there

Finnish women’s national football team Amanda Rantanen was injured in a match against Eskilstuna on Friday. His wrist was cut Tuesday.

The hand was cut on Tuesday in Sweden.

– The wrist broke quite badly and at the same time went out of place. I’m really happy to only be away from training for two weeks. I have to do nothing until the stitches and plaster are removed, but in just two weeks I can already pull the buttons to my feet and go to training normally. At first, of course, beware of a little contact, but otherwise you may be normally involved. Really facilitating news, Rantanen comments to Sport by phone.

The facilitating news for Finns is also that the attacker’s European Championships are not in danger with these prospects.

– If I’m elected, I’m going to play there. We have talked to the doctors that I am ready to go there if everything goes as planned with the hand and rehabilitation, Rantanen says.

Rantanen made his debut for the national team in a memorable way in December 2021, when he entered the field with extra time and hit Finland, a vital 1–0 victory goal against Scotland. Since then, playing time has come in ten international matches. Head coach Anna Signeul has often replaced Rantanen at the end of the field, and most likely would like to attack the summer European Championship team as well.

The last possible day for announcing the composition of the teams is June 26th. However, you can switch players indefinitely (switch to another service) for medical reasons until the opening day of the Games, ie 6 July. Goalkeepers can also be changed during the tournament, even if there are healthy goalkeepers in the line-up. The rule is due to a corona pandemic. The Finnish Women’s European Championships will be named on June 9th. The European Football Championship will be played in England from 6 to 31. July.

“It’s best to continue with the best”

Rantanen joined the Swedish club in the summer of 2021. This season, the Finnish striker has hit four hits in eleven matches. The performances have also been pleasing in Örebro.

– I think the performances have improved all the time and now towards the end I started to feel really good. Then came this hand, but luckily it’s good to continue with the best I’ve stayed with. I know I can evolve and I can do even better. Fortunately, he has been able to score a few goals and has had a lot of playing time, especially in the final games. I have been happy with what I have done, Rantanen assures.

The Finnish striker was also involved in building the only hit left in Friday’s match. Örebro’s 1-0 victory was eventually scored as Eskilstuna’s own goal, as Rantanen’s bet bounced through two away players.

The win broke the losing streak in the three matches, but the top teams in the series were Rosengård, Häcken and Vittsjö. April in particular was a strong performance from Örebro, and the team’s Finnish defender also gave birth To Elli Pikkujämsä nomination for the Player of the Month series.

The team is currently eighth in the series.

– Of course there were three hard games where we didn’t get points, but we played well. I think our game is evolving. We have a lot of new players who get in better and we will definitely be even stronger as a team in the autumn season, Rantanen believes.

The European Football Championship will be shown on ‘s channels 6–31. July. will also show the release of the Helmare European Championship team on June 9th in the Arena.
