IEG inaugurated today at the Rimini fair KEY – The

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – K.EY – The Energy Transition Expothe manifestation of Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) a point of reference in Italy, Africa and the Mediterranean basin on energy transition, today opened its doors at the Rimini trade fair for the first time in an autonomous form, with a totally renewed look. No longer together with Ecoworld, and with an unprecedented location in spring, the attraction of the event (open until Friday 24 March) is already in the numbers: around 600 brands present, of which 28% from abroad, with the presence of the main leaders of market in all sectors and a significant expansion of the supply chains. The exhibition area has doubled compared to previous editions: 12 pavilions, with six thematic exhibition areas dedicated to each of the six product sectors of the event, confirming the liveliness of the market.

atOpening Ceremonyparticipated Corrado Peraboni, managing director of Italian Exhibition Group, Vannia Gava, deputy minister MASE, Stefano Bonaccini, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Anna Montini, Councilor for Ecological Transition, Blue Economy, Statistics of the Municipality of Rimini, Roberto Luongodirector of ICE e Paolo Arrigoni, GSE president.

“In our work – he said Perabons – alchemies are created such as the one that twenty-five years ago gave birth to Ricicla, which became Ecomondo, and which accompanied the turning point of what is now called the circular economy. Well today, the same alchemy that has been created with companies and sector associations accompanies K.EY, which left Ecomondo five months ago and which today has three times as many companies present. And it is no coincidence that it is developing in this territory which also knows how to express itself from the point of view of trade fairs and which has the ambition to be excellence and leadership”.

“Being able to manage our industrial and productive heritage together with a particularly relevant tourism sector is a great challenge,” he said Montini –. Such important trade fairs in the field of sustainability, such as Ecomondo and Key Energy, which today transforms into K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo, are a stimulus for our area to be increasingly innovative and avant-garde: there is a synergistic exchange between the territory, the production, industrial and tourist system and all that these fairs bring on a national and international level and on our territory”.

“The GSE – he said Arrigoni – is increasingly aware of playing a central role in supporting the energy transition, with today’s aim being the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency, expressed through the management of incentive mechanisms. We will work alongside the operators, and we are also here in Rimini with this mission, to collaborate on a common path that will lead to decarbonisation”.

“The role of trade fair organizations is absolutely central – he recalled Long – they are not only a container and an opportunity for meeting and contact, but an instrument of our country’s industrial policy, which also means being an international projection of the most advanced and high-tech sectors such as renewable energy and energy transition, represented from this event and on which Italy is betting a lot. We have brought over 350 foreign operators from over 25 countries to K.EY, which means allowing companies to have direct contacts and open up to collaborations with research centers and international laboratories”.

“We have signed up in the Region – he underlined Bonaccini – a new pact for work to which the word climate has been added which does not place the environment and work in opposition. And the results have arrived: we are the first region in Europe for added value of industrial production between 2015 and 2022, while in Italy we are the first region for per capita exports. But we are also the region of yes to the regasification terminal, and to the offshore wind project off the coast of Ravenna, knowing full well that today we need gas, but the future will only be renewables”.

“The theme of the energy transition to which this very important fair is dedicated, born from the offshoot of Ecomondo, is fundamental, as is that of the circular economy – he concluded Gava –. It is clear that everyone had to take their own path, while maintaining a synergy in some ways. To carry out the ecological transition we need to simplify the authorization procedures and shorten the times, but also and above all to create an environmental culture by explaining to all the actors involved that it is a necessary path. It is an opportunity that we cannot miss, to safeguard the environment and the country’s economy, and which we must seize at the right time, without exceeding the 2050 goal”.

Simultaneously with K.EY takes place the third edition of ForumTech, information and training event ITALY SOLARAnd focused on the role of storage systems in the electricity market, on the technological challenges for O&M in Italy and the end-of-life management of photovoltaic modules. K.EY is also held in conjunction with DPE The European Exhibition of Electrical power Systems, the European event dedicated to the entire ecosystem of electrical generation, distribution, safety and automation, organized by Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with theDistributed Generation Association – Engines, Components, Generating Sets federated with ANIMA Confindustria.
