(Telestock) – Installation of temporary pavilions, internal navigation circulatory system, constant flow of communication with stakeholders: the ongoing redevelopment of the Vicenza trade fair district revolves around three key points, the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) project to tackle the transition phase that will begin with the next edition of Vicenzaoro September (6-10 September).
In view of the first of four editions (two in September and two in winter) of the international gold and jewellery show that will take place in parallel with the work to build the new 22,000 m2 pavilion, IEG is working to guarantee exhibiting companies, buyers and visitors the best experience at the fair in the period leading up to the completion of the project, scheduled for mid-2026.
“One of the key elements to preserve the Vicenzaoro experience during the transition is the issue of internal navigability”, comments Mario Bishopdirector of the Vicenza office of IEG and director of operations of the same plant. “With the current construction site area no longer available, we have designed a circular navigation system that reduces the visual and acoustic impact of the works to zero, opening new passages and connections thanks to the installation of three new-generation temporary halls and a system of graphic elements that will best guide the visitor flows”.
“Thanks to teamwork between internal teams and continuous dialogue with companies, we have identified solutions to preserve the Vicenzaoro format with a layout that maintains the number of exhibitors and enhances the experience at the fair with a look & feel suited to the expectations of the sector community,” continues Matteo Farsura, global exhibition manager of the Jewellery & Fashion division of IEG. “Having conducted the planning of the editions that will take place in the transitional period with this measure of detail and attention allows us to already think about the Vicenzaoro of the future.”
In the meantime, work in the area continues according to schedulethe construction site also with the work of clearing out explosive ordnance (BOB). It is important to specify that this is a verification process decided by IEG on a voluntary basis given the very remote possibility of finding explosive devices on the site of the old buildings, but initiated with the mission of guaranteeing the total safety of the exhibition center and in compliance with the Group’s certifications in this area. The process precedes the preparation phase of the foundations aimed at starting construction of the new pavilion designed by Studio GMP of Hamburg, also scheduled for September 2024.
