We are already halfway through the Idol fall and on Friday it was time for the season’s fifth Friday finale. On the agenda was a gospel evening together with the Sthlm Sound Gospel Choir, and the program was hosted by Carola.
When the program ended, it was clear that Isak Uddström and Olivia Aliotti had to leave.
It was a colorful Friday evening in the Idol studio when the gospel choir was on site and the participants interpreted artists from Samuel Ljungblahd to Destiny’s Child. The big star Carola also visited as a member of the jury and performed her brand new song “Helga natt” together with the gospel choir. After a magical evening and the majority of standing ovations, it was time to announce how the people voted, and this time extra was at stake.
Double elimination
When the votes were counted, and it was time for the results, it was clear that not one but two contestants would leave the competition. Nine participants would suddenly become seven.
Just a week ago, it was Olivia Aliotti who was hanging loose, but was saved at the last moment by the jury’s lifebuoy and therefore had to stay for another week. It didn’t take long, however, before she once again risked leaving, hanging loose with Isak Uddström, Jordan Rawling and Tilda Vodusek. In the end, it was clear that Isak Uddström and Olivia Aliotti would leave the competition.
Chaos of tears in the studio
When the verdict came, there wasn’t a dry eye in the Idol studio. It had been an intense evening with a lot of emotion, and when the names were called out, all the participants burst into tears.
“It’s so sad, but I’m also so proud that I dared to come back and search again, and I’m so glad I did,” says Isak Uddström, crying.
“You’re not a person who gives up, you’re a person who keeps going,” says host Pär Lernström about Isak.
Despite the jury’s lifebuoy last week, Olivia’s journey unfortunately came to an end.
“I am so happy, and this is not the end. Of course I will continue with the music. I’m very happy, thank you,” says Olivia.
