On Saturday, the idols will sing duets with other artists, in the sixth Saturday final. It is something that the participants both look forward to, and have been nervous about.
Minou Nilsson will do her duet together with the Danish artist Christopher. She was very nervous before the first rope.
– I was very nervous about singing with Christopher. He was so kind and nice and helped me a lot. He was very confident in what he was doing so then I became a little more confident, which was nice.
Christopher is an artist she has listened to all her life, she says.
– I was nervous to meet him. I’ve been a fan of his since I was little, so it was truly a dream come true to sing with him. But then there is also a bit of pressure, you want to perform. It went well, but my nerves took over a bit, she says.
Joel: “I’m really nervous”
Joel Nordenberg will sing together with the artist Jireel. They will perform his “Santa Catalina”.
– I’m really nervous to be honest, says Joel Nordenberg during Thursday’s rep and continues:
– I have grown up listening to his music and looked up to him throughout my upbringing, so it will be so much fun to do something with him. It’s an incredible honor for me, I’m just trying to take it in.
Nordenberg has already performed another Jireel song in “Idol”. In the fourth Saturday final, he rapped the song “Amen” by the artist, who was himself in the arena.
– He actually said that he was a little worried about the song choice, but then he thought it was so good. That made me happy to hear.
“Be a little starstruck”
When TV4 Nyheterna meets Leo Tekiel on Thursday, he has just had his first rope with Eric Gadd, who is his duet partner.
– I was a little starstruck. I have basically never sung with anyone except at the final audition, he says.
He says he’s been listening to a lot of Gadd’s music, and says he felt nervous about singing with him.
– I have been a little nervous about it and thought “how will it go?”. He really knows what he’s doing, he knows how he wants it to sound. But it felt good today, now I can relax a bit and start working on details, he says.
