Hamas says it fired a rocket at Tel Aviv on Sunday night.
According to the Israeli Defense Forces IDF, the rocket landed in an “open area” in the city of Rishon Lezion, which is located just south of Tel Aviv. The launch led to rocket alarms sounding in the city for the first time since January this year, according to Haaretz newspaper.
The IDF states in a statement that the rocket came from the “southern Gaza Strip”.
