Iconic Brantford Grocery Store, Brant Food Center, Set to Re-Open on Feb. 13

The Wait is Almost over for customers whove been longing for a brant food center sandwich or fix from its popular salad bar or in-house bakery.

The iconic, independently owned Grocery Store, Shutted since a devastating fire on July 1, 2023, is set to re-open on Feb. 13.

“Hallelujah,” A Woman posted Friday on Facebook Page dedicated to following the Progress of Renovations at the Store.

“It has long a long process,” Said Owner Anthony Dipietro on Friday. “At first, the Insurance Company Said We’d be up and running in three months. But we couldn’t do Anything for the First 14 MONTHS.

“It has been very difficult. I can’t Wait to open. ”

The Interior of the Gray Street Store – The Front Portion of the Building Dates Back 133 Years – Has A Fresh, New Look and A Layout that Makes It Easier to Navigate. The roof has been opened, giving the ceiling more height and the store the appearance of being more space, Said Dipietro.

“It’s Laid Out Totally Differently,” He Said. “It looks bigger lot.”

All the Customer Favourites will be back – and improved.

The expansive salad bar is now located at the center of the store. The Selection of Hot Offerings will be expanded, and a new feature is a porchetta (pork) carving table. The In-House Bakery Will Again Offer Fresh Bread, Buns and Sweets, and back is the extensive Fresh Meat Counter.

Many Employees- Some of Whom Have Been Working at the Store for 35 Years or More- Are Returning and Dipietro Said They’ll Be Hiring Lots of New Full- and Part-Time Staff Members.

The Dipietro History in the Grocery Business Goes Back to the 1970s when the family opened stores in Hamilton and then Cambridge.

Anthony’s Father, Stelio, Who Passed Away in 2020, Opened Brant Food Center in 1980 and World There Every Day 84th Birthday.
