ice rink with bear gap – like Luleå hockey

When Victor Larsson’s 6-year-old son Noah told about his fascination with the bear gap that Luleå hockey has at its games, he decided to surprise his son. Now the family has its own ice rink with a fire-breathing bear gap in its garden.
– Noah expressed that the bear gap was awesome and had a desire to ride through it, says Victor Larsson.

Father Victor Larsson tells how it happened when he built the attention-grabbing ice rink with a bear gap for sons Linus, 12 years old, and Noah, 6 years old:

– It was one evening when I went out and built my own gap which I then painted and tried to make resemble a bear, which has since been upgraded with some lights and a smoke machine. We sometimes have a projector that plays clips on the ice and stuff like that, says Victor.

The inspiration: Luleå hockey

The inspiration comes from the bear gap associated with Luleå hockey – through which the players entered the ice for the first time in 1994. Luleå hockey is, not entirely unexpectedly, the family’s favorite team.

– They are good, says Noah.

The children enjoy entering through the bear gap with smoke, music and disco lights – just like the idols.

– It’s awesome, says Linus.

Invite friends

The ice rink has also become popular in the area of Boden where the family lives, and they usually invite friends and neighbors who want to go.

– It’s special and fun because then you can be several there, says Linus.

When asked if he has more ideas in the works, Victor replies that it is probably now his partner’s turn to get something.

– It leans towards a greenhouse, he says.
