Ice Hockey: Toronto Wins First Playoff Game In PWHL History: ‘Built All Season’

The league started with six teams just after the New Year and has quickly become a success. Two weeks ago, a record crowd for women’s hockey overall was recorded at 21,105 when Toronto beat Montreal 3-2.

Last night, 8,473 people were in attendance at the Coliseum, an arena that also houses the AHL team Toronto Marlies.

Played in best of five games

Blayre Turnbull scored two of Toronto’s goals.

– I think we have been building and building all season waiting to get into the playoffs and get better and better. There is room for improvement but overall we are quite happy with where we are, Turnbull told PWHL and can barely make it to play the second game of the best-of-five series.
