After the opening wins against Switzerland and Finland, Sweden had needed to play at least a draw to win the tournament. Now the tournament win went to the Czech Republic after what turned out to be a decisive final match. The women’s crowns finished second.
– They get a pretty good grade. I think I see a rather lively Swedish national team that creates significantly more is than before, they dare to care for the puck in a completely different way than before. The young debutants do it without the slightest doubt, and the drive in the group should be taken with them in a team that is on the rise, says SVT Sports expert Maria Rooth.

Picked up 0–3 to 3–3
When Sweden tried to get an equaliser, the Czech Republic scored an important 5-3. In the middle of the third period, Noemi Neubaurova fired a quick high shot that goalkeeper Emma Söderberg did not have time to react to.
In the final minutes, they took Söderberg out and invested in six outfield players. After a conversion, however, the Czech Republic was able to punctuate the match by scoring 6–3 in an empty cage. There was great prestige and the match ended with a scuffle between several players.
Sweden was otherwise on the move when, in less than ten minutes, they recovered from 0–3 to 3–3 in the middle of the match.
The next Euro Hockey Tour is in November.
