It was in the final stages of the middle period that the nasty situation arose. After a draw in the offensive zone, Linköping’s Felicia Levin wanted to reach the puck, but instead she lost her balance and hit her head on the rim.

Levin, 21, was left lying on the ice while doctors rushed in. The referees chose to end the period with just over a minute left.

According to Lova Blom, teammate in Linköping, Levin was able to get up on his own.

– I didn’t see the bang, but she is getting good help and I now see that she is getting off, says Blom to TV4 Play.

Reassuring message

Sabina Eriksson, sports director in Linköping, writes in an email to SVT Sport that Felicia Levin “feels good under the circumstances”.

“She’s on her feet and it was a pure safety measure that she didn’t play anymore”.

Linköping won the match 3–2. Big match hero was Ayaka Hitosato who decided in extra time.
