After several hot chances, Ludvig Jansson finally found Markus Nurmi, who scored his first goal in the SHL.
In the second period, Mathias Bromé twisted the puck and got a free position which he managed. Bromé famously left Örebro last summer after a conflict with the coaches. It was his first SHL goal in 255 days.
– Always nice to score an early goal and be able to let it go and move on. Extra nice to do it early so people don’t have to nag you that you have to score, says Bromé to SVT Sport.
Four minutes later, Frederic Allard made it 3–0.
But Leksand would get hope late in the second period. Oskar Lang reduced but the luck was short-lived. Pontus Andreasson found Albin Lundin who was completely open on the far side and poked in 4–1.
Linus Omark put the definitive nail in the coffin after a real cracker to make it 5–1.
– It was nice to be able to hang it in the power play, we had a bit of trouble there. Nice to win, says Omark to SVT Sport.
Leksand now has two straight losses while Luleå has two straight wins.
