The super talent was behind Luleå’s experienced goalkeeper Joel Lassinantti and tricked him with a real brashness.
– It is the absolute highest class you can imagine, regardless of which league in the world you play in. To do it so quickly, so nicely, says SVT Sports expert Håkan Loob in Hockey night.
Lekkerimäki on the goal:
– I don’t know, there wasn’t much to think about. Pure instinct, glad it went in. I’ve never scored a goal like that before – I don’t know what happened, he told TV4 Play.
He barely had any time but in one movement he dragged the puck with him from behind the goal.
The talent’s goal meant 2–0 for Örebro against Luleå, which was enough for a 2–1 victory.
With the goal, he also passed his own coach Niklas Eriksson on the list of most goals scored as a junior in one season. He is, however, a bit ahead of Kent “Kenta” Nilsson, who scored 28 goals.
