Ice Hockey: Frölunda determines in the fifth period – Isac Born Hero

Timrå was well on her way to a victory in the third quarterfinals match against Frölunda. But Arttu Ruotsalainen had other thoughts.

The Frölund star reduced to 2-3 with four minutes left of the match. Then, with six seconds left, he sent in 3-3 and took the match to an extension.

There it was really dramatic where both teams took turns to burn one hot goal chance after another. After 80 minutes of play, the score was still equal.

But the decision would come in the fifth period. Isac Born saved the away team when his shot sat in the cross behind Tim Juel.

Now Frölunda leads the match series by 2-1.

– We have to move on. The first two periods we played well, but then became passive in the third, says Timrå’s coach Olli Jokinen.

The goalkeeper played

Lasse Johansson in the Frölund goal played, especially in the first period. After the match he was satisfied.

– It was probably the best period I have done in my career. Timrå plays well but we were not at our level, so it was nice to make some big rescues, he says in TV4.

The next match will be played on Thursday, also in Timrå.
