When Sam Hallam’s squad for the Four Nations was ready, it was, as expected, filled with NHL stars. But even in the booth, Sam Hallam has strengthened himself with competence from the North American side.
At the beginning of December, it became official that double Olympic champion Daniel Alfredsson will stand next to Hallam in the booth. Alfredsson, who is an assistant coach in the Ottawa Senators.
– It will be terribly fun. I am very impressed by his view of hockey, says Alfredsson and points out why he will complement Sam Hallam in the coaching staff:
– In the NHL it is played very similarly, everyone tries to copy each other. That’s why I think this tournament is important. Sweden and Finland might do things that Canada and the USA haven’t seen before, says Alfredsson, who points out that Hallam has never before coached a team on a small rink.
Tre Kronor has also recruited video coach Myles Lee, who became a Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers last year.
The Four Nations will be played February 13-21. See the full guide here.
