Ice hockey: Brynäs clear for SHL after defeating Djurgården 4-0 in matches: “Can’t describe in words”

– I cannot describe in words how happy and relieved I am about what we have accomplished, says a crying Ove Molin, leader in Brynäs, to TV4 Live.

There was great cheering in the large Brynäs section while the players celebrated on the ice after throwing sticks, gloves and helmets. Among the Zoo fans, placards were unfurled in protest.

– It is of course very emotional and I remember how tough it was a year ago, but we have been fighting since then. It’s incredibly nice that we were able to sort it out in the end, says Brynäs Anton Rödin to SVT Sport with the gold medal around his neck for winning the hockey Allsvenskan.

The sojourn in the hockey allsvenskan was only one year for Brynäs, who managed to go up straight away. Djurgården lost the second straight Allsvenskan final. This year they had no chance, while last year they pushed Modo to seven games.

Brynäs took the lead at the end of the first period. Oliver Tärnström fired a shot from outside. Goalkeeper Viktor Andrén was heavily obscured in his goal yard, but after video review the 1-0 goal was approved.

The victory was established in 25 seconds

At the beginning of the second period, Brynäs put in the winning move. After several mistakes behind his own Dif goal, Brynäs’ Tyler Kelleher picked up the puck and played it to Greg Scott, who hit directly for 2-0.

Just 25 seconds later, it was time for Oliver Tärnström to score two goals. In a quick transition, Jack Kopacka passed the puck to Tärnström, who put it over the backhand and lifted it into the crossbar for 3-0. Some Zoo fans then wept openly.

– It’s obviously tough, we would have liked to play longer but they won 4-0 and we weren’t enough. There are no excuses, says Djurgården’s Marcus Krüger.
