Mark Scheifele scored his first hat trick of the season, the ninth of his career as Winnipeg won its 16th of 19 games of the season.
He chose to highlight his teammates after the heavy win.
– Honestly, I’m so lucky to play with the guys I play with. Kyle Connor made a great pass on the hat-trick goal. Nikolaj Ehlers was responsible for a fantastic pass. Gabriel Vilardi made a fantastic run through. I’m blessed to play with these guys. They were amazing tonight, says Scheifele according to the NHL.
Two goals in an empty net
It was an even summit meeting and Morgan Barron scored 5-3 and 6-3 in an empty net in the final minutes. As recently as Saturday, Florida won against Winnipeg 5-0 at home.
– It’s tough to lose when you fight back to get close. It’s two very tough games by two good teams, in my opinion. It would have been just nice to get this game, said Matthew Tkachuk who cut to 4-3 for Florida with three minutes left to play.
