Former Guinean Prime Minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana, as well as three former members of Alpha Condé’s last government, were charged and placed under arrest warrant at the Conakry central house on Wednesday April 6. They are being prosecuted for alleged acts of illicit enrichment and embezzlement of public funds.
Since Monday, Ibrahima Kassory Fofana has been heard twice. Alongside him are three former Ministers of State: Dr. Mohamed Diané, Zakaria Koulibaly and Oyé Guilavogui.
These former collaborators of Alpha Condé were heard as part of a preliminary investigation opened at the request of the prosecutor of the court for the repression of economic and financial offenses (CRIEF).
Justice is investigating alleged acts of embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment, corruption and money laundering.
” No concrete amount has been advanced, nothing specific has been held against them “, assures Me Djibril Kouyaté, one of their advisers. Tuesday April 5, the lawyers of these former ministers decided to boycott the hearings, in sign of protest.
No details have filtered concerning the projects or the concrete facts incriminated. But the judges have shortened the procedure: the four defendants will appear Monday, April 11 before the court of flagrante delicto.
