(Finance) – The IATA – International Air Transport Association has released the data of February traffic, which confirm the continuous growth of the sector. On the front of passenger transportthe total traffic for February 2023 is increased by 55.5% compared to February 2022 and is equivalent to 84.9% of what was recorded in February 2019.
The increase of international trafficto the extent by 89.7% compared to February 2022, it is driven more by the Asian and Pacific area. The overall international level reached 77.5% compared to February 2019.
Willie WalshIATA’s Director General, confirmed that the sector is now just around 15% below 2019 levels and the gap is narrowing month by month.
For what concern air cargo transportationthe values recorded in February 2023 are del 2.9% above pre-pandemic levels.
