(Finance) – The IAG group has signed a new order with Boeing for the purchase of 50 B737-8-200 and B737-10with an option for an additional 100 aircraft.
The order for the first 50 aircraft to be deployed for the group-owned airline’s short-haul operations has a worth 6.25 billion dollars at list prices, but the purchase transaction was subject to a significant discount, the value of which was not disclosed.
The largest model in the family, the B737-10 can accommodate up to 230 passengers in a single class configuration and is capable of covering a distance of up to 3,300 miles.
