Last Saturday, a 15-year-old boy was shot to death in connection with the shooting in the center of Farsta. On Tuesday, the 15-year-old’s schoolmate gave an emotional speech in memory of his dead friend in connection with the school graduation.
“We will continue to honor your memory by being kind to each other, encouraging each other and spreading joy just like you did,” says the friend in the speech that TV4 Nyheterna heard.
It was early Saturday evening that four people with gunshot wounds were found in different places around the Farsta center in southern Stockholm. Three people, a 15-year-old boy, a 45-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were taken to hospital by ambulance. A 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, the police announced that the 45-year-old man also died from his injuries.
“Always made me smile”
When students in Farsta gathered for the end of school on Tuesday, the 15-year-old’s schoolmate gave a speech to remember and honor his friend. In the speech, which TV4 Nyheterna has received permission to quote, the friend describes a person who always spread joy around him and who had the ability to make others feel important:
“I will never forget you. Your warm smile and laughing eyes had the ability to spread joy in every room you walked into. XX was not only kind and nice, but also a social butterfly who could talk to everyone and make them feel important”.
“He was a person who always made me smile, no matter how dark or boring life felt”.
“Still feels surreal”
In his speech, the schoolmate also describes the feeling of unreality that has arisen since the 15-year-old’s death.
“When I heard that you had passed away, it felt like the earth ended and my heart broke.”
“I love you and will always love you, even if you are not here physically anymore. You were always there for me, and for that I am eternally grateful. Rest in peace now, my beloved brother,” the friend concludes the speech.
