The release of Diablo 4 is imminent and many fans are talking about how they will approach the launch. Among them are a surprising number of gamers from the older generation who now hope to be able to take their children into “their” world as well.
The most important thing about Diablo 4:
What’s up with the parents? A mom tells Reddit how excited she is for Diablo 4. At that time she had already started with the first part. Now she’s 43 and a single mom to three kids who everyone thinks she’s “got bang on” because she’s looking forward to a “click to move” game.
Only her 12-year-old child could convince her to give the game a chance. She wants her children to “love Diablo as much” as she does. When asked if the release was a “family event” for anyone else, she received hundreds of comments within hours.
Among them are some users who feel the same way: parents who want to gamble with their children or want to introduce their children to their favorite hobby. One user even says:
My husband and I met in WoW 14 years ago, but Diablo was his first RPG when he was young. So he was super excited about Diablo 3. That came out when I gave birth to our older son. […]
Our sons are now old enough to play with us and both have gaming PCs. All four of us got the Ashava kill in the slam. A little carrying on our part got them to level 20 but they dealt decent damage after I built the build and gave them some gear. […]
We’re considering opening a family-friendly clan in Diablo 4 for parents with kids, right in Early Access.

There are even responses from users in their 40s who managed to get their own parents to play. They too would now want to see Diablo 4.
Most recently, Blizzard whetted the appetite for Diablo 4 with a new live trailer. The preload will start soon.
“I’m not sure I would recommend this game to kids under 12”
Despite the joy of many parents, there are also concerns in the comments. Diablo is a pretty “cruel” game and not necessarily suitable for younger children. Some parents say they even want to take their 7 or 8 year old kids to Sanctuary.
At least in Germany, Diablo 4 is only released from the age of 16 and actually has quite a few bloody scenes. But the parents think: Cutscenes are skipped. You want to focus on magic and exploration. That is justifiable.
Others recommend playing Diablo 4 on consoles. The Xbox and PlayStation versions have crossplay, so you have a little more control over what the kids see.
For all parents whose children do not want to take part, there are also a few tips. So you should give them a crash course in how to shop and cook, or at least prepare food for the weekend when mum and dad are not available.
