The football expert Martin Aslund has been a guest on the football podcast this week Studio Allsvenskan. In the episode you also hear Hugo Månsson, Henrik Eriksson and Marcus Birro.
In the podcast episode, Martin wants to nuance the picture of Lucas Bergvall who is talked about as one of Sweden’s greatest talents.
– If you see how Lucas Bergvall plays football, he is an opportunist, he often does the difficult thing, says Åslund and continues.

– If you are going to play in the Premier League and have that role, you have to check which other players have it, how many Swedish players have that role? There are extremely few, so then Lucas Bergvall must become one of the best players in Swedish history. Am I sure he will be? No I do not think so.
Many see Lucas Bergvall as one of Sweden’s greatest talents, but Åslund wants to nuance the picture and mentions a level that he thinks would have suited Lucas better:
– I think he will be a very good national team player. I think he ends up in a top team in the Benelux and there he can become the fucking GOAT (Greatest of all time).
In the summer, 18-year-old Lucas Bergvall leaves Djurgården for the Premier League club Tottenham. Åslund shares how he thinks things will go for Lucas there:
– Will he replace James Maddison in Tottenham? I hope I’m wrong and that he does, but I don’t think so, says Åslund and continues.
– People take what I say the wrong way, Lucas is an incredible footballer.
