Daniel Nannskog gives his controversial opinion on the matter.
– Don’t do what Norway did, says the SVT expert to the television channel.
Swedish football has long resisted the introduction of VAR, video assistant referee. But then Fredrik Reinfeldt took over as new chairman of the Swedish Football Association, the door has begun to open.

The criticism is mainly based on the fact that it takes far too long and the emotions that are football disappear when everything has to be double-checked in the smallest detail. The horror example is what happened in Norway, where the introduction of VAR has not been a success at all and now many want to abolish the video aid.
Nannskog’s words
Now the SVT expert surrenders Daniel Nannskog into the debate and comes up with a controversial statement about the much-maligned VAR.
– I think you can and should introduce VAR. But in that case, you have to beat the big drum and bring in the real VAR. Not like Norway did, they took the cheaper version where there weren’t enough cameras, so you could get all the angles, the football expert told the TV channel about the decision that will throw Swedish football a lot of money.

Nannskog has followed developments in Norway and knows what has gone wrong. He really understands the Norwegians’ criticism of the video system and therefore wants Sweden to do differently.
– It took a long time to determine offside and you didn’t have this goal line technology. So it was a big failure in Norway and the players were disappointed, fans were disappointed and everyone was disappointed with VAR in Norway, says the SVT expert.
