“I swear it’s fun!”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Imane “Pokimane” Anys (26) is the most followed streamer on Twitch. As a variety streamer, she typically shows games like League of Legends and Valorant on her channel or chats with her viewers on Just Chatting. Now she revealed her love for a completely different kind of game: the mobile game Candy Crush.

What did the streamer confess? Pokimane told her viewers in a stream that she recently started playing Candy Crush. This is a game that, since its release in 2012, has become the epitome of what many dislike about mobile games.

Nevertheless, Candy Crush Saga, as it is called in full, enjoys great popularity and reaches millions of players. One group in particular is often associated with the game: moms. It even became a kind of meme genre. Now Pokimane seems to be moving in these illustrious circles as well.

Streamer tries to convince her viewers

How did that go down? Pokimane had barely finished her sentence before her viewers taunted her, “We lost her.” The 26-year-old defended her new love and steadfastly tried to convince her fans:

It’s fun folks, it’s fun! Why are you saying “no”? It is fun! “We lost her”? No, I swear it’s really fun.

Pokimane went one step further and boasted about her supposed skills in the motley game: she only played one evening and had already reached level 25, she was a really good candy crusher. You can see a summary of the stream here:

Pokimane: “I’m so young, almost a baby-adult”

This is what Pokimane had to listen to: However, the streamer immediately had to realize that she could not keep up with the iron will of a pensioner. Because viewers began to compare them to their grandmothers. The worst: They were also much better.

According to one viewer, his grandmother is already at level 1,500. Pokimane apparently hadn’t delved into the game all that much yet: “How can there be so many levels, huh?”. In fact, Grandma still has a long way to go as there are even more than 13,700 levels in the candy puzzle (via candycrush.fandom).

Pokimane, meanwhile, holds on to her youth:

stop! I’m one of the youngest in our whole group of friends. I’m so young! i am extremely young I am very young! I’m 26, that’s kind of a baby-adult, you know? Just because I play Candy Crush doesn’t mean anything.

Candy crush is only the second choice

How does Pokimane get to Candy Crush? The streamer isn’t just a fan of getting candy out of the way, she has a love for mobile games in general. “I just love being able to be somewhere and play on my phone,” she explains.

Candy Crush wouldn’t actually be her first choice: Pokimane, who according to Twitch Tracker has more than 1,200 hours in League of Legends, says her favorite would actually be the mobile offshoot Teamfight Tactics. But there they would be disturbed by the constant new patches: “Can they stop? No one asked you to change everything!”

Mobile games have a pretty bad reputation in the gaming community, which is why Pokimane’s confession must have surprised viewers. But pocket-sized games are no longer limited to Candy Crush and Angry Birds. In the meantime, this has developed into a huge market and this could be the future:
