They have become great rivals on the ski slopes.
Now the Swedish skiing star Linn Svahn is singled out in the Norwegian media.
And major competitor Kristine Stavå’s Skistad doesn’t seem to like it at all.
This year’s ski season is coming to an end and the big talking point so far has been the Swedish smash hit on the women’s side. At the same time as the Norwegian ladies have had a desperately difficult time in the tracks during the winter.
Svahn’s great success
Whoever has delivered the best is Kristine Stavå’s Ski City in the sprint and the cocky Norwegian has angered the Swedes a couple of times. In the middle of the Swedish sprint dominance, she has managed to win a handful of sprint victories and then celebrated by glancing at her Swedish rivals.

But the absolute biggest exclamation point this season is without a doubt Lynn Svahn. Who really found her way back to great form again and is once again an absolute world-class skier, which she showed by racking up victories during the season.
Set in Norway
But in Norway, people are already looking ahead to next season, and then a much-anticipated skiing World Cup awaits at home in Trondheim. Already now, Norwegian TV2’s skiing experts have come up with an early WC tip on how the medals are distributed.

On the men’s side, there is obviously great Norwegian dominance, but on the women’s side, the Swedes are expected to destroy the skiing party on Norwegian soil. Sweden is singled out as the winner of both the sprint relay and the large relay, Ebba Andersson wins gold in the skiathlon and the five-mile, while Frida Karlsson wins 10 km classic.
Skistad will be second
Then Svahn is singled out as the gold medalist in the sprint and Stavås Skistad only has to settle for a silver on home soil, which the Norwegian does not seem to appreciate very much at all.
– I still have to say that the potential for the Norwegian girls is there. It hasn’t been like that this winter, but if you do the right thing before the WC in Trondheim, I think the potential is there. We might get some surprises, I hope so, says the TV2 expert Marit Björgen.

The Norwegian experts point out Johannes Hösflot Kläbo as the great WC king in 2025 but the WC queen is more uncertain. And here there is a big exception that can change all conditions and her name is Therese Johaug.
– The WC queen is a more difficult question… We’ll see if there will be a comeback for Johaug. Otherwise, I think we will see a greater variety on the women’s side with several different winners, says the legendary Björgen in his analysis.
– If Therese decides to do it, I think she will be very sharp. She doesn’t want to do anything half-heartedly. Then it is to go “all in” and then we know how good Therese can be.
