“I, sitting in the whole picture, know that…”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Biathlon World Cup is just a few weeks away.
Then the former national team coach Wolfgang Pichler wants to see Sebastian Samuelsson removed from the World Cup.
– I have seen that it is an old coach of mine who was out and thought differently, says Samuelsson to SVT Sport.

On February 8, the Biathlon World Cup in German Oberhof gets underway, where it is primarily a mixed relay event. All the Swedish stars will be there in search of WC medals, but before that there are World Cup competitions in Antholz.

“I’m in the whole picture”

Then the former national team coach wants to Wolfgang Pichler see that star Sebastian Samuelsson is removed from the competition, to instead prepare for the WC.
– If I were a coach, I would remove him so he can prepare for the WC, said the former national team coach Wolfgang Pichler in SVT’s Winter Studio on Saturday.

The article continues after the picture.

But Sebastian Samuelsson himself does not agree with his former coach at all.
– I’m going to Antholz. I have seen that there is an old coach of mine who was out there and thought differently, but me sitting in the whole picture I know that I will go to Antholz, he says to SVT Sport.

New tactics

Even though he himself says that he will go to the competitions in Antholz, the arrangement for Samuelsson will look somewhat different due to the high altitude of the place.
– I will live low. I have seen now that when I lived up in Antholz and get very few days to acclimatize to the altitude, I ride really bad. So now I want to try to stay low and just go up and compete and I think it will suit me much better, says Samuelsson, who points out that it is not only about this season, but also his hopefully successful career in the long run.
