A 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man died when a man opened fire on a crowd outside the subway station in Farsta in June 2023.

The suspected shooter has admitted to the shots. Now the trial begins in Attunda district court.

The man has said that he was the one who fired the shots and that he did it because people threatened to harm his family.

“I got out of the car, I shot, then I got into the car, then we left. I don’t know if I met the right person. I was too stressed, didn’t have time to see what was happening, it blacked out. I’ve repressed it, it’s not something I want to remember,” said the now 20-year-old man in questioning eleven days after the shooting.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6pm on Saturday 10 June in Farsta in southern Stockholm. The shooter arrived in an orange BMW, got out and pointed a Serbian-made Zastava automatic carbine at the subway entrance. He fired 21 shots in quick succession.

Four met

Many people were at the scene and at least four people were hit by gunshots. A boy and a man died from their injuries. A further large number of people risked meeting, according to the indictment.

“The person who sent the instructions said that I should meet as many people as possible that the person was with. It was said that I would kill, but it was not something I wanted to do,” said the 20-year-old in questioning.

The investigation has not been able to determine with certainty who it was they were looking for.

Foxtrot and the Valley

Prosecutor Angelica Runesson has stated, however, that the Foxtrot network was behind the shooting and that it was part of a conflict with the so-called Dalen network. The target of the shooting is believed to have been a local network in Farsta that allied itself with Dalen.

The 20-year-old left the crime scene quickly in the same car he arrived in. Police stopped it after a car chase on road E4.

In addition to the shooter, a 19-year-old man who drove the getaway car and a 19-year-old who allegedly acted as a scout in Farsta have also been charged with murder and attempted murder. A fourth person, also 19 years old, is charged with aiding and abetting, as he is said to have hired the detective.

At the end of March this year, the police issued an international wanted list for the man who is suspected of having instigated the shooting.

The trial begins on Wednesday and is scheduled to last until May 22.
