Novak Djokovic has won the Wimbledon tennis tournament men’s singles title.

In the final match, the Serbian ranked number one in the tournament defeated the “bad boy” of tennis Nick Kyrgios split score 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 7–6 (7–3).

The turning point of an even match was seen in the third set at 4-4, where Kyrgios led his own serve 40-0. Suddenly, he made a couple of easy mistakes, and a game later, Djokovic took a 2-1 lead, which the Serbian has not taken in the final of a major tournament in his career.

The relationship between the champion and the challenger has been rocky, but today Djokovic gave Kyrgios credit in the court interview.

– Nick, you will make it to the final again. You are an amazing talent and you proved to be one of the best in the world, especially on this platform.

– I didn’t think I would say so many nice things about you. This is now officially a bromance, the Serbian added.

Djokovic has now won the last four and a total of seven Wimbledons. He has 21 Grand Slam titles.

Kyrgios’s bag of tricks was emptied

The unranked Australian unloaded everything in his gimmick arsenal onto the London turf.

He pitched full from second and ducked downfield, hit with his left hand and lifted a backhand between the legs.

Although Kyrgios was playing in his first singles grand slam final, the bad boy’s reputation does not include excitement, especially when he had the advantage in head-to-head battles (2-0).

This time, experience won over enthusiasm, but Kyrgios was not left to explain the stinging defeat.

– Is he (Djokovic) a bit of a god when I thought I played well.

During the tournament, the Australian has garnered media attention in addition to his game performances by spitting on the spectators and barking at the referees.

Was the journey to the final match mentally instructive, as the Australian regretted his tournament behavior after the loss?

– Thanks to the judges and the audience. I know I haven’t been the easiest. Regardless, these two weeks have been amazing for me and my team, and now we need a vacation.
