While the price of gas must further increase, here should be the amount of your invoice in 2025.
It is a new blow to the portfolio of more than 10 million French people. The price of gas will increase again from this 1er April (+2.25%), the energy regulatory regulation commission (CRE) announced. Not everyone is affected by this increase, but it should have repercussions on a good part of households using this energy.
Every month, CRE announces a landmark price, calculated according to many parameters. This is the tariff relayed in the media but it is in no way a price applied by suppliers. It only serves them as a landmark and when it increases, those of suppliers also increase, in the same proportions.
Therefore, calculating your future gas bill is not easy. Many parameters must be taken into account: the type of contract, the use of gas, the location, the subscription, the price of KWH as well as taxes. To make your task easier, Linternaute.com did the calculations. The scenario: a family of four, living in a 100m2 house. Here is the amount of invoices according to uses.
Take a first example. The Dupont family lives in Moulins-sur-Allier. In this home, everything is on gas: heating, water heater and cooking plates. Thus, annual consumption is around 14,000 kWh.
For the house, it is an EDF contract for 2 years that has been subscribed. Thus, for two years, the price per kWh of gas, for this location (zone 2) is blocked at € 0.1075/kWh, whatever market variations. Only, from 1er August, the subscription price (€ 21.57 excl. Tax/month) will increase. Indeed, the European Union requires VAT from 5.5% to 20%. In total, over the year, the family should therefore spend around 1900 euros in gas, taking into account the increase in VAT and taking into account additional taxes.
In Perpignan, the Rodriguez family has another use of gas, only for cooking and hot water. With 3000 kWh consumed on average per year in this case, this results in an invoice around 500 euros over the year. The price per kWh (€ 0.1378) is higher because the city is not in the same area (zone 3). On the other hand, the price of the subscription is lower (€ 9.42 excluding tax/month), but it will also be applied higher VAT from August.
For their part, the Lefebvre live Rouen (zone 1). They do not have a fixed price offer but an offer indexed on market prices, since they have subscribed to gas adapt 1 year of Engie. In this case, it is more difficult to estimate the amount of the invoice in 2025. Indeed, the price varies every month, generally upwards. To which is added the increase in VAT on the subscription in August.
According to the forecasts of specialists in the sector, it is necessary, in this case, to expect an annual invoice of around 1800 euros for a heating/water/kitchen heater use, against around 400 euros for the sole use of the water heater and the cooking plates.
