I live in a 100m² house: here is the amount of my electricity bill in 2025

I live in a 100m² house here is the amount

With the upcoming drop in electricity prices, here is what your new bill will be.

This is the good news at the start of the year, announced a long time ago even though it had seemed illusory for years. The price of electricity will finally fall for 24 million French people, those on the EDF blue rate. It’s now official, the new prices have been communicated and households will finally be able to start calculating their savings compared to last year.

This new pricing will come into force on February 1 and will relieve the finances of 80% of French people. This is the first time since the slight drop in 2017 that the price of electricity will vary downward.

But calculating your future electricity bill is not easy. Many parameters must be taken into account: the type of contract, the subscribed power, the subscription, the kWh rate as well as taxes. However, not all data is easily found and understandable.

To make your task easier, Linternaute.com therefore looked at the new price list and did the calculations. The scenario: a family of four, living in a 100m2 house, whose contract is a basic offer (6kVA). The heating and kitchen are connected to electricity and the house includes a fridge, a freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is also an electric water heater. This corresponds to a consumption of between 13 and 18,000 kWh per year according to energy companies.

In 2024, the price per kWh was €0.2276 in January, then €0.2516 from February. The subscription also increased on the same date. This therefore resulted in a bill between €3760 and €5140, or between €310 and €430 per month.

For the calculation of 2025, we must take into account the price per kWh for January (€0.2516) as well as the price of the subscription. From February, the price drops to €0.2016. The subscription is increasing. With the evolution of all these elements, the annual bill will be around €2700 to €3700, or €225 to €310 per month. This will represent a saving, in 2025, of 88 to 120 euros per month, compared to 2024. Enough to give some relief to the finances.
