Bojan Bogdanovic intentionally missed a free throw in the closing moments of the match against Ukraine and dropped his team to the third place in the group. This would mean against Finland in the quarter-finals of the European Championships, if the late games of the evening go as expected.

A special moment was seen in the final round of the initial group stage of the European Basketball Championships, when Croatia’s NBA star Bojan Bogdanovic intentionally missed a free throw in the final moments against Ukraine.
Sports expert Antero Lehton according to the free throw was clearly missed on purpose.
– If a guy tries a free throw in basketball with a sideline throw in football, that’s how it goes, Lehto outlined the situation in direct words.
Bogdanovic’s free throw would have given Croatia an eight-point lead, which would have probably vaulted Croatia into second place in the group. After the miss, Ukraine made another basket, so Croatia won the match 90-85. It meant that Croatia will finish third in their group as long as Italy beat Great Britain in the late game of the evening.
Croatia’s tactics also meant that the team probably wanted to face Finland in the quarter-finals and dodge in the diagram Luka Doncic star-studded Slovenia. Of course, even this tactic still requires that Serbia wins Finland’s group by beating Poland in the late game of the evening.
Finland memorably beat Croatia in the World Cup qualifying game at the end of June with Lauri Markkanen’s last-minute basket. Since that game, Croatia has become stronger with NBA players With Dario Saric as well as the American quarterback With Jaleen Smith and Euroleague player With Krunoslav Simon.
– Usually, in such situations, the joke has hurt my own ankle. Hopefully even now, Lehto summed up.
