Armand Duplantis offered a rarely seen show.
By winning both Olympic gold and breaking a world record in Paris.
Now he reveals the love decision together with his girlfriend Desiré.
What an incredibly unforgettable sports evening we got to see on Monday when Armand Duplantis took over the entire Paris Olympics completely. The Swedish world star was in super form and had the whole Stade de France boiling during the pole vault final.

It was never really exciting when “Mondo” first secured the Olympic gold, his second in his career, without even tearing once. He then broke a new Olympic record and, to top it off, everything ended with a new world record.

The whole evening was an extreme discharge for Duplantis, who went all out and then celebrated the feat with loved ones all night. Early in the morning he still got up, despite half an hour’s sleep, to visit the Olympic studio in Kanal 5 and speak in front of the entire Swedish people.
Love decision
The days after the Olympic gold have been fully booked with interviews, medal ceremonies, royal meetings and social contexts. But now the 24-year-old makes a much-needed love decision together with his girlfriend Desire Inglander.
– Desiré and I are going to spend a week together now, just her and me. I think she gets more stressed than me when there are competitions and especially the Olympics, so she also needs to sleep…, he tells Sportbladet.
– Just enjoy, cozy up and “vajba”. I probably haven’t been the best boyfriend this summer. It was worth it to me – and I hope it was worth it to her too.

On Wednesday, the couple jumped on a flight directly from Paris to Greece. Armand Duplantis is really looking forward to being completely free now after the tough Olympic bubble.
– I have been quite confined lately, more than I have been in my entire life actually. It has been quite strict. So yes, she deserves a vacation too. It’s really nice for both of us, he says to the evening newspaper.
