As a 17-year-old, Viktor Frisk broke through overnight as one half of the music duo “Samir and Viktor”.
But the great successes had a downside and now he opens up about the difficult time.
– I didn’t think I would be 27, says Viktor Frisk and breaks down in Nyhetsmorgon.
In 2014, Viktor Frisk and Samir Badran broke through with the song “Success” and their lives quickly began to turn 180. They had eighty to a hundred gigs per summer and at the same time they participated in television production after television production.
– Those were great fun years at the beginning, when the pop star dream was alive. We loved every second we got to be a part of, says Viktor.
While life flew by, Viktor tells how he lived with demons that tormented him and in a vacuum that he could not handle. In 2019 and 2020, he was in a very destructive period.
– I took medication at the wrong time, used substances that were… it’s terrible to say, but I didn’t think I would be 27, Viktor says, breaking down in tears.
Went there for minor drug offences: “A cry for help”
In the summer of 2019, during the Summerburst festival, the thing that made the artist wake up happened – he was caught with the drug ketamine on him and arrested for minor drug offences. When he looks back at himself during that period, he sees a guy who is not well.
– I see a dark tragic guy, it was a cry for help. At the same time, I tried to give the impression that everything was perfect – because that’s how it should be, he says.
Viktor has also received lasting but from his destructive lifestyle. Due to his abuse of nitrous oxide, he became B12 deficient and has a circling sensation in his hands and feet. He also had problems with his balance for several months and was unable to walk.
– To everyone out there I want to say – no matter how much fun it is that minute, it can cost you your life. I will have to live with mine for the rest of my life, he says.
Today, Viktor Frisk is 28 years old, is an entrepreneur and runs a communications agency. Together with the influencer Josephine Qvist, he has also started a podcast where he wants to show new sides of himself, but also tell how it has been.
– It’s okay to feel bad and it’s okay to talk about it. It has been so very taboo and still is. Just creating a podcast that can help others I think can be very important, says Viktor Frisk.
