Toblach will forever remind Frida Karlsson.
Now the Swede returns two years after the big scare – and then it happens again.
– I had a stomach ache, Frida tells SportExpressen.
Everyone knows what happened during the Tour de Ski 2021. When Frida Karlsson had the stroke of genius to do muscle exercises in the hotel room in Toblach, Austria.
Frida’s horror
The Swede then did so-called chins in a door frame and the worst thing imaginable happened when the frame cracked and Karlsson fell to the floor. She injured herself so badly that she had to break the Tour de Ski in 2021.

Since then she has not returned to Toblach – until this week. When the new World Cup weekend approaches, Frida is back at the same hotel again and then the most unexpected thing happens again.

“Same room”
Frida and the roommate Maja Dahlqvist again sharing a room and once in place at the hotel both discovered that it is – of course – the same room as in 2021.
– The man at the reception said: “Okay, Frida. Here is your key. You have been given the same room. Don’t climb the walls!”, Frida tells SportExpressen.

The feeling didn’t get better either when she stepped into the room and the memories from 2021 came flooding back.
– I got a little sick to my stomach when I stepped into the room. I’ve felt a little on the door frame but haven’t tried anything so far, she says to the evening newspaper.
Maja promises
Roommate Dahlqvist promises that there won’t be any crazy ideas in the room this time.
– No door frames anyway! After all, you don’t know if there is something else going on. We will do our best to stay whole, Maja assures in a statement.

Maja Dahlqvist started the World Cup weekend already on Friday when she came second in the sprint. While Frida Karlsson starts the competition on Saturday with 10 km and then ends the last World Cup competition before the WC with a relay on Sunday.
