They have both won the hearts of the Swedish people for their heroic efforts.
Now the Olympic gold hero Anna-Carin Zidek opens up about the relationship with the late Frank Andersson.
– I got a completely different picture of him, she says to Sportbibeln.

Anna-Carin Zidek reaped great success as a biathlete during the early 2000s. After she left cross-country skiing and changed sports, things really loosened up for the Swede.

The celebrated biathlon career ended in 2011, and after that we got to see Zidek in the SVT program “Mästarnas mästare” in 2015. There she got the chance to get to know a certain Frank Andersson.
– I had participated in recording “Superstars” with him a few years earlier as well. But when we were there at Mästarnas mäster, I got a completely different picture of him than I had before, admits Anna-Carin in an interview with Sportbibeln.

“Frankie Boy”, as he was often called, was a real party animal alongside his sports career and was often noticed for his crazy antics or scandals. But Zidek got a completely different view of the late icon during the shoot in Sicily, Italy.
– He was a humble person. Perhaps it has never appeared that way in the media over the years. But I thought he was beautiful, she tells Sportbibeln.
– He didn’t have time to be there that long, because he got sick and had to go home. So I didn’t get to know him that well.
