Arne Hegerfors has fallen asleep.
Now Anders “Ankan” Parmström is speaking out for the first time.
– It stings the heart, says the friend to Expressen.
On Monday came the tragic news that Arne Hegerfors has gone on. The popular television profile and legendary commentator turned 81 years old.
Hegerfor’s death
He started his career at SVT and after 29 years, Arne moved on to Canal+. Millions of Swedes have grown up with Hegerfors’ voice at major sporting events and he goes down in history as one of our most loved television profiles of all time.

But the last years were tough for Arne, who suffered a heart attack, stroke and brain tumor within the space of four years. During the past year, he was also treated for the covid virus and heart failure.
The sadness of the duck
On the night of Monday, Arne Hegerfors fell asleep, he was 81 years old. Now the close friend and longtime colleague is speaking out Anders “The Duck” Parmström for the first time.
– I have tears very easily. I laugh when Pretty Woman is on TV. So you can imagine how I feel now. Of course this hurts. We have camped together for over 30 years, both professionally and privately, he tells Expressen.

Arne and Ankan were a much-loved duo and commented on hockey matches for over 30 years together.
– I have been with this wonderful person for 30 years. I am deeply impressed by him both as a person and as a professional. He was ahead of the development of televised sports. When others were still wondering how to do it, he already did it perfectly, says Parmström in the interview.

The Radar couple became close friends during the time they worked together and on Monday morning Ankan received the tragic news.
– For 30 years we sat in long broadcasts together and drove 5,000 miles a year together. Where you just talk. You can only imagine the relationship we had, says Parmström to the evening newspaper.
– So it stings my heart, even though I was prepared for it.
