Therese Johaug and Maiken Caspersen Falla have left.
The biggest Norwegian active star, Heidi Weng, is still missing.
– I feel sorry for her, says Ragnhild Haga.

A lot has happened within the Norwegian cross-country national team recently. Two of the absolute biggest stars – Therese Johaug and Maiken Caspersen Falla – have now stopped, thus leaving a big hole in both distance and sprint.

“Too bad for her”

In addition, another of Norway’s biggest stars is missing, and it is clear that it affects the national team. Namely, several of the ski national team’s biggest stars are going out and openly show their support for Heidi Weng, who is still missing when Norway now starts up its camps for the coming season.

Weng received the corona just before the Olympics, and thus missed all competitions during the championship. In March, the next setback came in the form of a concussion, and now, three months later, she is still not back in training.

– I feel very sorry for her. She has had a lot of setbacks in a short time, says Ragnhild Haga.

“A difficult situation”

According to Haga, Heidi Weng seems to have a bit left to form, as she has had difficulties in everyday life.

– I’ve talked a lot with Heidi. The only bright spot is that it seems to go better in everyday life. I have told her that she is so easily trained, so if she only gets started a little during the summer and autumn, I am not worried about her physical shape. It’s just a matter of getting completely healthy and fast, and we’ll see a strong Heidi Weng for the winter, she says.

Tiril Udnes Weng also expresses his support.

– It is a difficult situation and very sad for Heidi, she says, and continues:

– I probably think that her physical shape is quite good, so now only the head has to come into place. I think she’s going fast this winter. The most important thing is that she gets started sometime during the summer, but I definitely think she does.
