“I don’t want to play Season 4 anymore” – Preview of the next season makes players want more

Today, June 25, 2024, the test servers for Season 5 of Diablo 4 go live. Players will then have a week to try out upcoming content and give the developers feedback. Some can’t wait for the launch, while others seem skeptical.

What is known about Season 5? Although Season 5 will not arrive in Diablo 4 until August, the servers for the PTR, the Public Test Realm, are scheduled to go live today, June 25, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. for a week. You can find everything about the PTR here.

However, Wowhead has already used data mining to give a first look at the upcoming content, which may differ from the patch notes known so far. The changes found their way to the Diablo 4 subreddit, where fans of the ARPG are busy discussing them.

Balancing adjustments, new aspects and 14 new uniques

What awaits you in Season 5? According to information from Wowhead, there will be a number of adjustments to the skills of the different classes, as well as changes to existing aspects and affixes in the game.

Players will be particularly excited about the 14 new unique items that are set to be introduced in Diablo 5. Each class will have 2 of the powerful items, and 5 more can be used by all classes.

Bye-bye, Bash Boys

In a thread by Reddit user clayclws, the upcoming content of Season 5 is discussed. The thread creator himself explains wistfully: “Man, I don’t even want to play Season 4 anymore… too bad I’m on PS5 and can’t join the PTR.”

However, not everyone seems to be looking forward to the upcoming changes with the same enthusiasm. Which group you belong to will probably depend on which builds you prefer to play:

  • Past_Lingonberry_633 says goodbye: “See you then, Bash boys and Flay boys”
  • However, insan3ity is confident: “Something else will rise up and take its place. Barb will still be at the top.”
  • EmiliuzDK is already ushering in a new era: “So Spin-to-Win Season”
  • Reddit user Kunaak complains that one class is once again getting the best treatment in the changes: “If you’re a Barb, life is fine, if you’re any other class… that’s… not good.” Reddit user Freeloader_, however, counters: That’s exactly what the PTR is for, so people should just send in feedback.

For fans of the long-neglected Druids, the changes could be a glimmer of hope. Reddit user WashombiShwimp says: “With these small changes to Druids, I’m now very convinced that there will be a class rework for the expansion.”

Whether the planned changes actually make it into the game will depend largely on player feedback, so some points of criticism could still be addressed.
