A future Call of Duty skin bundle has been leaked, with the guns speaking like TikTok NPCs. MeinMMO takes a look at the TikTok NPC trend, skin bundle reveal and mixed reactions from players.
What’s the deal with the TikTok NPC trend? The TikTok NPC trend has taken social media by storm. In this trend, TikTokers mimic the behavior of video game NPCs.
They sway back and forth slightly, repeating the same phrases or sounds over and over, and performing appropriate movements. For example, when a user donates an ice cream, the streamer responds with an enthusiastic “Hmm Ice Cream, so good” and simulates enjoying the ice cream.
The pioneer of this trend is the TikToker Pinkydoll, who fascinates many people with her weird behavior in live streams. But not everyone finds this trend amusing – some find it uncomfortable and cringe. Still, most of these streams get high views and generous donations.

What’s the deal with the leak? The leak comes from the data mining group Task Force Leakers 141, which posted a preview clip on Twitter/X of the upcoming skin bundle on September 1, 2023.
The unofficially revealed Battle Buddy: NPC Pack includes some new language lines that are strongly reminiscent of the NPC TikTok trend. Statements like “You were shot! Ouch, ouch!” and “Shinies! shines! Rawr!’ offer a taste of the language pack’s quirky dialogue.
In a surprising twist, the voice actor even breaks the fourth wall and asks the player in frustration, “Ugh, can this trend be over yet? I’m out of character.”
“What happened to Call of Duty?”
How are players reacting to the leak? The reveal of the Battle Buddy: NPC Pack drew mixed reactions from the Call of Duty community.
Some players expressed criticism and asked: “What happened to Call of Duty?”.
Another comment read: “Who in their right mind decided this was a good idea?”.
Another user wrote: “I don’t want to believe this is true!”.
But there are also positive voices. Some players find the unusual approach refreshing and comment: “I think it’s kind of great that it’s so annoying.” and are already asking when the bundle will be available to buy.
The mixed reactions to the Battle Buddy: NPC Pack show that the community is divided. Still, most of the leaked content in the past actually appeared in-game.
It remains to be seen how many players will actually opt for the skin bundle and whether this unusual TikTok NPC trend will conquer more games.
