Kerttu Niskanen after finishing second in the women’s 30 km WC race in Inari Eveliina Piippo did the best 30 km race of his career on Sunday. The strong-willed Piippo said in an interview that behind the success was a new way to keep the tank from emptying before the finish line.

– I have found such a sports drink that I don’t poop in my pants or throw up on the way. Exercise has also helped. It will be quite easy such a short trip.

Even in the relay of the World Championships in Planica, Piippo needed a doctor’s help to get out of the finish area.

Piippo is currently training Santeri Erolan under. There is also a difference Remi Lindholm coach. Lindholm is known for hard training.

The Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu skier was 25 seconds behind Niskas, who won the race. The difference remained at approximately the same readings from the 8.6 kilometer gap. According to Piipo, despite the good performance, there was still a bit left in the tooth cavity.

– It’s a little sad that I didn’t ski 50 kilometers or that I didn’t go harder at the beginning. Maybe fast muscle cells just weren’t enough.

Niskanen reminded of “Kollen”

Kerttu Niskanen said that he even expected that Piippo would challenge him in a gold fight.

– Before the competition, I expected that Eve would also want a gold medal from this day. He has skied well on these long trips. It seems that he is a bit fresher than me at the moment, I knew that he would give a tough resistance.

Piipo’s wish for a longer race was coolly acknowledged by the champion.

– Eve was a bit exhausted at Kollen’s 50 km. I think this was pretty good.

Niskanen passed Piipo towards the end of the women’s 50 km race a few weeks ago at Holmenkollen. Niskanen was eighth in the final results, Piippo tenth.

A joint run between Pärmäkoski and Niskanen

Niskanen drove the third place finisher Krista Pärmäkoski caught up after the first round and the national teammates covered most of the race in the same distance. Women had a clear division of labor.

– I took the uphill sections and Krista came ahead on the downhill sections and I tried to stay behind. We had a division of labour. I think Krista was really excited about that huh huh. I told you to keep up. He obeyed well, Niskanen laughed at the finish line.

– It was lucky that we skied this way. I was able to take advantage of the pees and pull “Kepallek” a little. If I had had to start after, I probably still wouldn’t have finished, Pärmäkoski said.
