“I don’t know who’s pulling the trigger”

I dont know whos pulling the trigger

This summer’s Kiveen hakatut radio series starts on Saturday. In the first episode, we remember the hockey great Lalli Part.

In the Kiveen hakatut radio series Arto Teronen and Jouko Vuolle reflect on their lives and careers by the gravestones of Finnish athletes and sports influencers.

The series has been made since 2007, always in the summer months. In total, more than 230 episodes of the series can be heard on Areena.

In the summer season 2023, Kiveen hakatut can be heard on Radio 1 every Saturday from 11:00 to 11:30 and on Areena from the morning of the same day.

In the first episode on June 10, Lappeenranta is visited to remember a hockey player Lalli from Partiwho, in addition to his playing career, had time to work, among other things, as CEO of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association.

Lall’s father was killed in the war and for a war widow, raising three sons was not easy financially. I wouldn’t have been able to afford heavy hobby fees, he reflected in an interview years ago.

– There is a fear that this will become a sport for rich brats. I have heard what the parents of C-juniors have to pay in the winter. If we had such season fees, there would have been no possibility to even start this kind of sport when there was a war widow and three children, says Partinen in an interview found in ‘s archive.

– In SaiPa, probably half of the children in such quotes were sons from poor, poor or less wealthy families who would have been in the same situation. If we had had to spend modern money on sports then, nothing would have come of it. I don’t know where this has come from and who is pulling the strings, but the big money is rolling in there. If football is still played in the summer, it’s a long penny. This, in my opinion, is the biggest danger to hockey.

During the summer of 2023, a total of 13 former athletes and sports influencers will be remembered. Among others, the best pole vaulter in Europe will be included Eeles Landströmthe pioneers of alpine skiing and motor sports Eino and Osmo Kalpalarated as the best marathoner in the world Veikko Karvonena wrestler Emil Varewho is one of the few athletes who, in addition to winning the Oympia, has reached the world, European and Finnish championships.
