“I dare not say anything”

I dare not say anything

The best goal scorer of all time in Finland has suffered from a strain on his buttocks for a couple of months. This week, however, Sällström has been able to train almost as usual. The time to start the European Football Championship is two months.

Star striker for the Finnish women’s national football team Linda Sällström said Wednesday To Aftonbladet (switch to another service)that has suffered a strain injury to the buttocks. He even admitted he was a little worried about the summer European Championships. There is now two months to go to the Games in England.

However, according to Sällström, rehabilitation from a chronic overexertion injury has taken a leap forward this week.

– Now it finally feels like the situation has progressed. I have been able to train almost normally this week. It is hoped that there will be no back packs and I will start to get fully involved in training and games. That way I would be well prepared for the European Championships and I would be there in the best possible blow, Sällström opened to Sport on Saturday.

Sällström is the best goal scorer of the national team ever. He has hit 50 times in 115 national team games. Sällström, 33, was not involved in the April World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Georgia due to an injury. In his highest-ranking club team in Sweden, Vittsjö Sällström, he has played two matches this season after playing six rounds.

The European Women’s Football Championships will start on July 8, when Finland will face Spain. The star striker admits that the injury as the Games approached has sparked unrest.

– Yes, I have been stressed here over the last month when there has been no progress on the injury. The clock is ticking and the European Championships are approaching. Every game is important. It has been stressful to watch from the sidelines when others have been able to train and play, and I myself have not been able to.

Now Sällström is cautiously optimistic about the Games. However, a lot can happen in two months, especially in football. Sällström was sidelined from the national team due to a knee injury when he last played in the European Championships in 2013. He admits the matter has been spinning in his mind at times.

– I dare not say anything in advance that it will not go bad again. Then when I’m there on the field and the game is about to begin, then only dare I breathe and trust that we’re finally here now.

Vittsjö, represented by Sällström, is sixth in Damallsvenskan after six games. It will face Hammarby, who is ranked 12th in the away game on Sunday. Sällström believes that playing time is known if things go well before the game.

– After Saturday’s workout, let’s see if there are any reactions in the hind legs. If nothing surprising happens, then minutes of the game should come tomorrow.
