‘I can survive without English, but without a cello it would be very bad’

I can survive without English but without a cello it

Justus van Herson comes from a musical family. His parents are both conservatories and they let him choose an instrument when he was four. That became the cello. “I once had a period when I thought, oh no, cello, boring, stupid, I want to stop. But then I joined a youth orchestra and thought, cello is secretly really fun.” When Justus has to choose between studying English and his cello, the choice is quickly made: “I can survive without English, but without the cello it would be very bad.”
