“I can hardly get any words out”

Ebba Andersson became the great WC queen this year.
Now she has made another great success – in a completely different sport.
– It’s just a matter of getting used to it, says the Swedish skiing hero to SportExpressen.

The last ski season was a great success too Ebba Andersson who took the step up to the top world elite. She first impressed at the World Cup and then when it was time for the Skiing World Cup, the 25-year-old switched into a completely new gear.

With double WC gold and double WC bronze, Ebba was crowned WC queen in Planica. She then ended the ski season in the best way by winning race after race after race.

Even when the ski season is over, she chooses to lie on the lazy side and has now achieved great success – in a completely different sport without snow and skis. When the race Scaniamilen in Södertälje was decided on Thursday evening, the Swedish skiing elite had gathered to make up with their jogging shoes.

Ebba superior

By far the fastest of all on the women’s side was the superb Ebba Andersson who crossed the finish line in 37 minutes and 17 seconds.
– When I was out there, I thought: “How the hell can this light trail really be? It never ends!”, says a completely exhausted Ebba to SportExpressen.
– I can hardly get any words out. Still very flabby. But that’s just the beginning of the hard work ahead of the season. So it’s just a matter of getting used to it.

Andersson was already a talented runner as a youngster, but chose skiing instead. Another running talent i Frida Karlsson was also in the race but due to illness she was unable to go the full mile.
– Mmm, I’ve been a little sick this spring and haven’t had time to run at all this year. So I chose a comfortable pace today, says Frida to the evening newspaper and finished in 58 minutes.

On the men’s side was William Poromaa fastest of all skiers and crossed the finish line in an impressive 33 minutes and 28 seconds second of all runners.
– You are right above it to run like this. It makes you think a bit like when you ski, when there’s a downhill slope, you go down a bit easily in speed position, says William in the interview.
– So this was good. Better than I dared to believe.
