“I buy 300 controllers on Temu”

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will feature a mechanic that players of the Budokai Tenkaichi series have feared. It will drastically reduce the lifespan of your controllers – which will put a dent in your wallet if you have expensive DualSense, Xbox Wireless or even more expensive controllers.

What mechanism is this? In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, the clash was part of a balanced round of combat. The clash always occurred when the two opponents carried out an equal, stronger attack. The winner of the duel was determined by a special event:

  • The two attacks collide
  • A quick-time event is triggered in which the joystick must be turned quickly clockwise
  • The player who has completed more turns wins the situation and prevails with his attack
  • The whole sequence is staged like in the anime. The two attacks collide, initially hold their ground and then the stronger attack prevails. As Bandai Namco revealed in their Beginner’s Guide, this mechanic will also be present in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.

But that’s exactly what’s causing players to break out in a sweat. They’re now worried about their beloved controllers.

What are the players afraid of? Many fans know from the Budokai Tenkaichi days that the clashes are very hard on the joysticks. With so many duels, the lower ends of the joysticks can lose material and can even break off over time.

That’s why many fans now think that they will have to lose their controllers in the many clashes. That’s why players on X are now worried:

One user jokes that winning the Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero duels only costs $85 because that’s the price of the controllers. Another user asks other players to please slow down during the clashes because the controllers are worth $70.

One person is considering ordering 300 controllers from Temu, a shopping platform that offers, among other things, lower-quality but cheaper goods. Another fan is afraid that his palms will also bleed from all the clashes.

Is the fear justified? Sportskeeda Gaming’s account shows what a controller that has been used in too many clashes might look like. Many Budokai Tenkaichi players have had their joysticks broken or at least worn down to the point where they were close to breaking.

We can also confirm that there was a lot of abrasion. The material that was worn away by the abrasion had already collected on the edge of the joysticks, making the joysticks dangerously thinner. Blisters on the hands are also a part of such duels.

It would be particularly annoying if players broke the joysticks, especially with the expensive Elite versions of the controllers. But there is a good alternative to avoid this problem: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero lets you choose between standard and classic controls.

If you’re worried about your controllers, you don’t have to use the classic controls from Budokai Tenkaichi. Instead, you can switch to the standard version, where you have to press buttons instead. This could be beneficial to the lifespan of your controllers.

There will be a variety of characters in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. There will be a total of 164 fighters, 11 of which are different forms of Son Goku: New game for “Dragon Ball” is perfect for Goku fans: There are 164 character slots, including 11 different Gokus
