HyperX Cloud 3 review

In our HyperX Cloud 3 review content, we take a closer look at the renewed version of the company’s popular headset series.

HyperX Cloud 3 review Continuing to expand its product range in gaming accessories, Hyperx continues to come up with new models of its popular series. One of the most popular series of the company, of which we have had the chance to test many of its products, is undoubtedly the Cloud gaming headsets. I have been testing the HyperX Cloud 3 gaming headset, which the company announced in June, for about a month. In this review, we will look at the features of the headset, but more importantly, the user experience and gaming performance.

Box contents

First, let’s look at the box contents of the HyperX Cloud 3 model. When we first open the company’s box, which has the red tones we are used to, we see the headset itself. When we remove the cover on which the headset sits, there is another small box in addition to the documents. A removable microphone and a braided extension cable are included in this box. The cable on the headset is long enough for the jack input on the top of your computer. Of course, if you want to connect it directly to the back of the case, this extension cable works great.

Design

When we look at the design of the headset, we encounter the design lines we are used to. HyperX Cloud 3 has lines that continue the footsteps of the Cloud series. The model we have is black. In this model, we see that the red lines have been completely removed and the headset has completely dark tones. Apart from black, there is also a different color option in which the slide parts are red. We see the company logo in a slightly gray color on the right and left sides of the headset. Again, on the red model, these logos also have red colors.

When we look at the top of the headset, we see that artificial leather is used. The part that corresponds to our head, of course, has a pillow part that extends to the sleds, and this part provides a very comfortable use. Small touches have been made to the design of the old models. The headphone part, where the drivers are located, has a metal alloy, and the frame part has plastic material. Of course, apart from this, metal material was also used in the sled part.

One of my favorite points of the Cloud series is that the microphone is removable. If you do not use the microphone very often, fixed microphones can really bother you both visually and in terms of usage. Therefore, once again, the right choice was made. Additionally, having as few buttons as possible on the headset prevents confusion. We see the mute button on the left side, and only the volume up and down wheel on the right earphone side. This volume wheel has a knurled design.

User experience

In terms of design, I already like the Cloud series, of course, since it is a wired model, it has fewer buttons. In general, it is ergonomic with its headband, but more importantly, it is not a model that will cause you much headache even with long use.

One of my favorite features of this headset was the use of the extension cable. Yes, wireless headphones are very popular now. HyperX also has many solutions on this issue. The Cloud 3 wired version also includes an extension cable. Thanks to this cable, you can use the headset, which you can normally use with a 3.5 mm jack input, as both USB and Type C.

Because there is a converter at the end of the extension cable. This means that you can use the headset from the 3.5 mm jack input, USB or Type C input. At the same time, these connection options mean that you can use the headset on your Nintendo Switch console, which has a Type C connection port, as well as your PC, Playstation and Xbox console. You can also use it on mobile platforms.

The headset, which has DTS Spatial Audio and 7.1 virtual surround sound engine, has 53 mm drivers. When we look at the frequency range, it is noteworthy that HyperX has increased the frequency range here even more. The frequency range in the headset is kept between 15hz and 20khz. The headphones have a good sound level for both daily use and music and games. Of course, when we compare it with much higher segment headphone models, there are points where it falls behind in deep sounds, but naturally we need to compare such models according to their price. Considering the price, I can say that it does its job very well.

HyperX Cloud 3 review

I tested this headset on many supported devices other than PC. Especially having mobile and Switch support is a great advantage. Especially when you play games on Switch, playing with a good headset instead of its own speakers really makes the difference in the experience.

As a result, the HyperX Cloud 3 model has managed to take this already popular series one step further, albeit a small one. Of course, the fact that the headset is not wireless brings with it a better advantage in terms of price. If you already have a better budget, you can also check out the wireless version. On the other hand, considering its features and price, we see that HyperX has managed to offer the advantages of the Cloud series to players in this headset, as usual.
