HyperX Alloy Origins 60 review

We look at the general features of the keyboard in our HyperX Alloy Origins 60 review content, which has an almost all aluminum design.

Coming up with different products, HyperX continues to increase its diversity in player accessories with its new models. We previously mentioned this package, which offers an affordable microphone and headphone solution in our HyperX Streamer Pack review content. This time, the company came up with a new keyboard model. HyperX Alloy Origins 60 review In our content, we look at the general features of this keyboard, which has a very different design compared to its competitors.

Rocky keyboard: HyperX Alloy Origins 60 review

First of all, the HyperX Alloy Origins 60 model, as the name suggests, has a 60% form factor. In other words, it has a 60% smaller design than normal keyboards. In addition to the NumeLock keys, the arrow keys that we see on TDK keyboards are not included in this keyboard. In this way, we can say that a much smaller design is signed.

Of course, this small size both appeals to gamers who prefer keyboards with this type of design, and also to users who do not want to take up too much space on the table. Being small means it will fit in your bag for portability. However, as we said at the beginning, this keyboard has an important feature that distinguishes it from the classic 60% form factor keyboards. The design of the keyboard is made entirely of aluminum, except for the feet. This naturally makes the keyboard heavier than its competitors.

As soon as you take the keyboard out of its box, you feel its quality structure. The HyperX Alloy Origins 60 model really has a design that we can say is much tougher than other keyboards. The aluminum structure has minimized the key mobility of the keyboard and allows you to type much more stable while typing. The weight of the keyboard is 780 grams.

Design

When we look at the keyboard design, we see that there are different aspects that stand out apart from this metal structure. All the keys we see on media and classical keyboards are assigned to the Function key and you can see these extra key signs just below the relevant keys.

The product we receive is in English as it comes directly from abroad. I don’t know if there is a Turkish version, because when I looked at the sales sites, they were all English versions, I hope a Turkish keyboard model will come. Since there is no Turkish version, there is a separate Keycap sale for TR characters. However, the Enter key is naturally small. I was a little confused at first because I got used to the wide keys, but you soon start to gain that habit on the typing side.

On the design side, we see that only the feet have a plastic material. A three-stage use has been made in the foot part and I have to say that I really like this design. Apart from the horizontal position, you can open the long and short legs and get a use according to your preference. Thanks to the feet, a use of 3, 7 and 11 degrees is provided. On the other hand, 60% keyboards generally do not include wrist support. However, I said that this should be the case in the models I have examined before, and I will renew my criticism in this model as well.

The last point I will talk about in the design will be the cable and the two extra key heads included in the box. There is a Type C input on the keyboard and you plug the cable, which has a nice structure, here. With a length of 1.8 meters, I can say that it has a sufficient length. The fact that it is removable provides a great convenience for you in terms of portability or when you change the table layout.

User experience

The keyboard, which is guaranteed 80 million presses, has PBT key caps with red keys. These friction-resistant keys also promise a good experience while typing. Although the key caps come off easily thanks to the apparatus, I can say that the keyboard actually offers a stable use as if it has a monolithic design. You feel that integrity when you start using it, but at the same time, the comfortable, soft structure of the keycaps makes you feel that the design integrates with the experience. It offers sensitive writing and its sensitive structure is felt while playing games, especially in competitive productions.

As I said, the box includes two extra key heads and an extraction tool for easy removal of these keys. One of the keycaps is the classic one with the HyperX logo on it. In other words, you can customize it by removing a key such as ESC and inserting this key. The other title was placed for the Space key, and a magnificent design was made on it, apart from the HyperX logo.

I can confidently say that you will use this keycap as soon as you get the keyboard. It has managed to add a very different atmosphere to the keyboard, especially with RGB lighting. Of course, by the way, it is also possible to buy the key caps offered by the company and customize the keyboard more. It was a nice gesture that these titles and apparatus came with the keyboard.

Speaking of RGB, the keyboard, of course, has an RGB lighting with LED design. The brightness level is quite good and you have the chance to customize it with different transitions. Thanks to the HyperX Ngenuity application, it is possible to make all these adjustments. Of course, the company needs to go a little further in this application.

As a result, the HyperX Alloy Origins 60 model is a very satisfying keyboard when we consider the key caps that come with it as a design. Of course, although it has a minus on the portable side with its lack of macro and its weight, it manages to stand out among such keyboards with its advantages on the experience side. If you are looking for a 60% style keyboard with its aluminum design, aesthetics and balanced use, I can say with peace of mind that it is one of the models you should take a look at.
