An injury-hit HV71 – with four Hockey Allsvenskan loanees including a 32-year-old SHL debutant in the squad – took the lead in the first period after a sneaky shot from the blue by Oscar Engsund.
Appropriate enough after the assist from debutant Marcus Bergman.
The team then increased to 2–0 through Joona Luoto.
The captain led the way
19-year-old Olof Glifford – who was knocked out by the Junior crowns to the JVM – played well for HV which gave energy and soon also made it 3-0 through former Frölunda player Radan Lenc.
Linus Högberg reduced the lead for the home team, but shortly afterwards it was 4–1 through HV captain Olle Alsing.
A puck that secured the victory for HV71, who are now on Christmas break with six straight victories.
The match ended 4–2.
